Hi everyone :)
I didn't want to write my first post about some ordinary stuff, I wanted to be special. So I took some time to think what could it be. And finally I've got it!
I've been looking for amazing house design ideas for some time now, but the one thing that stick around in the back of my brain because of its perfection was the amazing 55 Blair Road Renovation by Ong & Ong Architects.
Ong & Ong Pte Ltd is a famous company from Singapore. Founding partners, Mr. Ong Teng Cheong and Mrs. Ong Siew May, established Ong & Ong in early 1972. Since then it is a growing company that opened 5 regional offices and earned a reputation for integrating skilled architecture, clever interior design, creative sense of environmental branding and landscape design.
55 Blair Road Residence is a project that stands out with its elegance and contemporary style. White, spacious interiors, vegetation, spiral stairs, and integrated swimming pool all seem to say “dream home”.
The residence was originally a traditional art deco style shop in Singapore renovated 10 years ago. The new owner however believed it was too dark and felt desire to bring in more natural light in the living space. And you must appreciate the effort of the design team (Diego Molina, Maria Arango and Camilo Pelaez) because they have really done a great job.
The most amazing thing about this house is an outdoor swimming pool that integrates separated living area into unique space. Outside there is a century Frangipani tree native to Singapore which brings a sense of peace and reflection into the living area.
The project won the Arch Daily Building of the Year Award 2009 in Refurbishment category.
